OYAP Level 1 Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Apprenticeship Training
If you enjoy working with large vehicles and want to get more hands-on experience and work toward earning a Level 1 Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Apprenticeship certificate, then we’ve got an incredible program for you!
These programs are for:
- Secondary school students who have earned 16 credits or more, and who have successfully completed a co-op placement in one of the three Motive Power Trades (Truck and Coach Technician (310T), Agricultural Equipment Technician (425A) or Heavy Equipment Technician (421A)
- Individuals 20 years of age or younger who have earned their OSSD
- This fully funded program means that students will complete this program with no enrollment fee.
About the Program
The Level 1 Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Apprenticeship (CVEA) program provides the common core CVEA Level 1 curriculum for in-class and practical learning for the three Motive Power Trades: Agricultural Equipment Technician(425A), Heavy Duty Equipment Technician(421A), and Truck and Coach Technician(310T).
Through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), the course provides students with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge through practical in-class learning and co-op experiences that are specific to one of these three Motive Power Trades.
Students will take the courses’ theory portions presented in a digital format and participate in hands-on learning at the TR Leger Apprenticeship Training Centre, Kemptville Campus.
Successful students will earn two co-op credits as well as TTJ4C and TTH4C, 4 credits in total towards their high school diploma through this program, in addition to a Level 1 Commercial Vehicle & Equipment Apprenticeship Certificate.
