Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Pre-Apprenticeship Program - Adult
This “Try A Trade” program focuses on introductory skills related to Motive Power Trades.
This "hands-on" program is followed by work placements in at least two of the three Motive Power Trades.
Participants benefit from soft skills training in customer service, conflict resolution, public relations and interpersonal skills building sessions.
Successful participants with a mark of 70% or higher in all 7 modules will earn their Level 1 In-Class Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Apprenticeship Certification which will be provided to the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD). These participants will have 2 years to become registered apprentices and complete their Level 1 Apprenticeship hours to meet the MLITSD requirements and move on to a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
This program is for:
- Adults with some/limited knowledge and experience in the Motive Power Trades who are looking for apprenticeship training in Truck and Coach Technician(310T) Agricultural Equipment Technician(425A) or Heavy Equipment Technician(421A)
- Adults looking for a second career opportunity
