Gateway to the Motive Power Trades

Micro-credential Program

Adult learners who are looking to explore employment in the Motive Power Trades (Truck and Coach Technician (310T), Heavy Equipment Technician (421A) and Agricultural Equipment Technician (425A) can enroll in an 8-week micro-credential program.
Participants will increase their knowledge and skills in preparation for long-term employment in these sectors, with a combination of 2-weeks in-class instruction with the added benefit of a 6-week work placement within these industries.
Students will learn introductory skills in electrical, hydraulics and precision measuring, with computer and soft skills training that will complement careers in the motive power trades industry (service shops, automotive electrical, heavy equipment maintenance, etc.)
About the Program:
- 55 hours of in-class training at the TR Leger Apprenticeship Training Centre at Kemptville Campus.
- A 6-week job placement with one of our industry partners.
- Successful students will be granted a Technical Focus Micro-Credential Certificate.
- All training is fully funded by government partners so there are no enrollment fees for students.
